AUDRI PHILLIPS is a Los Angeles based artist currently working in a variety of mediums

that range from computer animations and paintings, video art (visual poetry), to oil paintings,

web design, and spoken word pieces. She also works in the film and game industry and teaches at

Otis School of Art and Design.

 

Her personal computer animations have been shown at:  Cal State Poly, in the Siggraph 2003 art

gallery, 1995 Siggraph Animation Festival, BillBoard Live, and one of her animations "Corroded

 Ethereal Visions" can be found on the Siggraph Video Review tapes for 1995.

Recent projects include working at Electronic Arts on game lighting, Digital artist on Spiderman, Stuart

Little 2, Harry Potter, art direction and design on a computer animated ride film

based on the "Yellow Submarine" Beatles film for Sony.

She also does web design work  recently did design for a web site to be shown on air as part of a proposed

television series .

For 5 years until July of 1998 she worked as an art director at MetroLight Studios

a computer animation company in Los Angeles.

There her last big film project was directing over 100 computer effects shots

for the film "Kull the Conqueror".

Paintings of hers have appeared in films such as Konchalovsky's "Shy People"'

rock videos such as Madonna's, "Open Your Heart", the Beastie Boys', "Shadrach"

(which she art directed) and "Whatsupwitu" a Michael Jackson, Eddie Murphy

animated rock video which she also art directed.

Her paintings, oil and digital, have appeared in such places as the Los Angeles County

Museum Rental and Sales gallery, El Pueblo Gallery,

the Downey Museum of Art, Cal State Poly Art Gallery, The Director's Guild,

Site Gallery, Beyond Baroque, Fine Good Gallery, Van Gogh's Ear,

Burbage Theater, Annex Bookstore, White Oak Art Association,

BeBop Records and Fine Arts, the Art Instiute of Chicago Rental

and Sales Gallery, and the Meta-Natural Dream Gallery.

She has organized events such as "Melons on Melrose" an art festival

connected with the Fringe Festival and the "Bubble Wrap Walk" featuring

the Divine Order of Consumers.

She has read her spoken word poetry at Mount St. Mary's College, The Art Space, Lulu’s Alabi, Beyond Baroque, and the Who’s On Third Street Café.

She has a BFA from Carnegie-Mellon University.
